Our Beliefs

Our church is a community of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that he died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). We believe that Jesus Christ now lives and is seated at the right hand of our Father in heaven and he will come again to take us to be with him forever (Hebrews 1:3; John 14:3).

We believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ and him alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). His death on the cross paid the price for our sins and as children of God we now stand forgiven (Colossians 1:13- 14). We affirm the Bible as the inspired Word of God and the sole authority of our faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe that Christians should be the happiest and most joyful people in the world because of their inheritance in Jesus Christ and what God has done through him on our behalf. To that end our times together reflect joy, celebration and praise to the King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 19:18).

We believe that every believer has been given at lease one spiritual gift by God to glorify and honor our Lord. We encourage all believers to discover and use their gifts in a fitting and orderly way (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 4:11-13).

In the essential doctrines of our faith, we seek harmony and unity. In the realm of opinion, we allow liberty and diversity. In all things, the goal of our faith is to express the love of God through Christ to all people and to manifest the righteousness, peace and joy that comes from the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

We believe that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to all believers and has given them a mandate to preach the gospel and to make disciples of all people, beginning in their own communities. Our vision at Heights Christian Church is to reach the lost of this world with the knowledge of redemption and reconciliation to God through the saving work of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 15:26; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
