The basis of the Old Testament Law was to create a civil and holy society. By necessity, these laws produced an outward type of obedience that created peace for those under the Law. However, there is a heart behind the Law that is designed to bring about more than just outward obedience. Some miss this understanding all together and we are seeing the effects of this today.
